Safe Housing for Brenda – June 2026

In June 2026, ECAOUg began building a safe and secure home for Brenda, an elderly grandmother caring for her orphaned grandchildren. Their previous house was in poor condition, with a leaking roof and an unsafe structure that put the family at risk.

Thanks to the generous support of our friends in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 and United States 🇺🇸 , construction of the new home is now underway. Once completed, it will provide Brenda and her grandchildren with a safe, dry, and comfortable place to live, giving them hope, security, and a better future.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has made this life-changing project possible.

Borehole Water Project

Access to clean and safe water is essential for the health and well-being of our children and the surrounding community. ECAOUg is planning to drill a borehole to provide a reliable source of clean water, reducing the long distances many families travel to collect unsafe water.

This project will improve hygiene, reduce waterborne diseases, and ensure a sustainable water supply for the children at ECAOUg and the wider community. With the support of our partners and donors, we hope to provide lasting access to one of life’s most basic necessities—clean water

Providing Bedding for Brenda’s Family (April 2026)

In April 2026, ECAOUg reached out to support Brenda, an elderly grandmother who has lovingly taken on the responsibility of caring for her orphaned grandchildren. Despite her age and the many challenges she faced, Brenda continued to provide a home for the children, even though they had no proper beds or bedding.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our friends and supporters in the United Kingdom, we were able to provide Brenda and her grandchildren with beds, mattresses, bedding, blankets, and other essential items. For the first time in many years, Brenda and the children had a safe and comfortable place to sleep.

This simple act of kindness brought comfort, restored dignity, and gave the family renewed hope. It also reminded them that they are not alone—that people from around the world care about their well-being and future.

Save Pregnant Mothers

Supporting pregnant youth is crucial for ensuring their well-being and that of their unborn children. These young mothers face unique challenges as they navigate pregnancy and early parenthood.

By offering comprehensive support services, including medical care, education, and emotional guidance, we can empower them to make informed choices and provide a nurturing environment for their children.

Purchased Land

Land Purchase — June 2025

After considering several options, ECAOUg purchased 0.5 acres of land in Magoma Village in 2023. We paid for the land in installments, completing the final payment in June 2025.

We selected this land for its strategic location, with direct access to the main village road and close proximity to our current home,making it easily accessible and well suited for our future development plans.

Following the purchase, we began a farming project on the land to help provide food for the children in our care. The project aims to improve food security, reduce our dependence on buying food, and support the long-term sustainability of the orphanage.

Children’s Home & Volunteer Residence

ECAOUg is planning to build a permanent Children’s Home and Volunteer Residence to provide a safe, loving, and stable environment for orphaned and vulnerable children. The project will also include comfortable accommodation for local and international volunteers who support our mission and community programs.

This development will strengthen our ability to care for more children, welcome volunteers from around the world, and create a sustainable foundation for ECAOUg’s future. With the support of our partners and donors, we hope to make this vision a reality and continue transforming lives through love, care, and compassion.

Community Clinic Project

The ECAOUg Community Clinic is a planned project aimed at providing affordable and accessible healthcare to the children in our care and the surrounding community. Many families struggle to access medical services due to long distances and limited healthcare facilities.

The clinic will offer basic medical care, child health services, first aid, and health education, helping to improve the well-being of vulnerable children and families. Through the support of our partners and donors, we hope to make quality healthcare accessible to those who need it most

Solar Power for the Orphanage

Our orphanage currently depends on unreliable electricity, which limits evening study time for the children and increases our running costs significantly.

We are fundraising to install solar panels that will provide clean, reliable energy for lighting, cooking, and device charging — helping children study better and reducing long-term costs.
